Questions & Answers
A Gutter is the trough around your house that controls the direction and the flow of water from the roof to the ground. Seamless means that each piece of gutter is continuous from one end to the other. A Seamless gutter is best because there are obviously no seams to leak. It offers a more complete decorative look to the fascia. It is available in virtually any color to complement the architectural look of your home. Using our hidden hanger system there is nothing to detract from the finished lines that only gutters can provide.

Why do I need seamless gutter?

Erosion Control... If you have ever looked at the ground around your house, you have noticed where the roof line drips to the ground. You see the rut caused by the spill. You see all that mulch in your flower beds pushed out of the way by the rushing water. Now for what you can’t see...The soil consistency around your foundation changing as soil is packed tighter here and looser there weakening your footers. Most houses in Florida are built on what I call an upside down boat. As water changes the consistency of what your house sits on, it can begin to list or lean to one side, eventually causing the slab to crack, which is the most expensive repair you can incur. In most cases this can be upwards of $30,000 to repair. Gutter, in most cases will prevent this. Gutter controls where the water hits the ground and diverts it away from the house. Back to Top

Stains and dirt... Now this may not be as costly to repair as other problems, but it is still a problem. Water spills off your roof and hits the ground. Well, it has to do something, so it splashes mud, sand, grass clippings, etc. back on to your side walls. These items stain your paint and well, they just plain look bad. Gutter can stop most of this splash back, extending the life of your exterior finish. Back to Top

Water damage... Rotten window sills, rotting fascias, saturated garage doors...Often times you can’t even see these problems until it’s too late for a cheap repair. Water running off your roof cascades down your side walls finding any level surface to rest on. As we know, here, in Florida, we get a lot of rain. One storm will not ruin your house, but when it rains everyday at three o’clock...

Wood acts like a sponge, soaking up as much water as it can. This also makes the wood a much friendlier home to the second biggest home wrecker there is, termites. Gutter moves water from the roof to the ground with a minimum of splashing. It will not prevent all water damage, but it will keep things substantially drier.

What about your air conditioner? Why do all of these builders put those pesky compressors right under the drip line, like the little strip of bent metal is going to protect it from a Florida rain shower? Salt blows in from the ocean and settles on your roof. When a little rain comes along and washes that salt off and on to your air conditioner, that is not good. How long is a compressor good for? Well, gutter should help it last at least that long.

Do I need gutter guard? If you live in a neighborhood with trees, chances are you could benefit from some form of leaf protection. Gutter, unfortunately, does tend to catch any solids that are on your roof, such as leaves, twigs, broken down asphalt shingles, etc. If you don’t want to do maintenance to your gutter, there are several forms of protection available. We strongly recommend Alcoa’s Leaf Relief system. This is the only gutter guard that comes with a full 10 year“ it will never clog” guarantee. Gutter protection systems can vary from $3.00 per foot to $36.00 per foot. Yes, I did say $36.00. For it’s price, Alcoa’s product blows most other forms of protection out of the water. We sell Leaf Relief for approximately $ 4.50 per foot. It seems odd that gutter guard costs more than actual gutter, however, it does almost completely eliminate any maintenance. Back to Top
